I don't understand the above. It gives a list of eight skills, then says "fill the rest of the bar with..."

What rest of the bar? Isn't 8 the total number of skills you can get in your bar?

Also--it's way too late now, but I want to register that I do wish the sticky didn't use so many abbreviations. It says "look here before asking stupid questions" but it seems to be written at a level somewhat above the "stupid questions" level.

The section from which that is quoted is a discussion over a two-monk lineup, and as such, is talking about skills that should be brought between those two bars.

You can't even take 2 copies of the same skill (Aegis) on 1 bar anyway

(if not talking about duplicate skills or echo'ing).

I think most abbreviations are explained in the disclaimer at the start of the first post and some others are explained the first time they are used (like HCT and HSR).

You are right. But I think it is more of a general reply to how the build was to be made, not a detailed one.
